The Labours of Our Heroes Past Must Never be in Vain. - ABS Charges Nigerians.
The Assistant General Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Apostle Biodun Sanyaolu (ABS) has joined the league of Eminent Elderstatemen to congratulate the citizens of the country as we commemorate Twenty- One (21) years of uninterrupted Democracy today 12th June, 2020.
In a statement signed and released from his media office in Abeokuta, ABS charges Nigerians not to take the democracy we enjoy today for granted because it wasn't given on a platter of gold. He reminded them that some individuals fought and sacrificed their lives, freedom, time and resources to afford us this unique opportunity.
Therefore, he enjoined political leaders particularly the ruling class to pilot the affairs of the country with modesty, propriety and the fear of God stating that man in his political wisdom is yet to invent any form of Government better than democracy.
ABS, who is also the Chairman and chief Executive Officer of ABSOL Farms Nigeria Limited further implored them to re-dedicate themselves towards utilizing the unique opportunities made available by democracy to set the Nation free from the claws of poverty, corruption and tribalism that have eaten deep into our national fabric.
The statement reads further "that the Foundation of self Government is that all men are free to voice their opinions and equal in their value as citizens". He therefore urged Nigerians to embrace love, harmony and peaceful coexistence with the caveat that it is only by so doing that we can remain a strong, united and indivisible entity.
He concluded by reminding all Nigerians that the Labours of the heroes past must never be in vain. He added that the Country is a collective patrimony and as such all hands must be on deck to build a nation where peace and justice shall reign.
