My Job is to Report to the President Only, Not to Public – Gambari

Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, the new Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, has disclosed that his primary assignment was to report directly to the president, not to the public.

DAILY NIGERINA reports that Mr Gambari is suggesting that Nigerians should not expect him to be on the pages of newspapers all the time, the same way the former Chief of Staff, late Abba Kyari, was doing during his time.

Mr Gambari who stated this on Wednesday when he spoke briefly to State House Correspondents at the Presidential Villa, commended President Buhari for finding him worthy to serve in the new capacity.

“I thank the President of the Federal Republic for giving me the opportunity to serve him and of course, the country,” he said.

Mr Gambari, when asked what Nigerians should expect from him, said: “We have not started, I’ll have to find out. I don’t report directly to the nation, I report to the President.”

The new chief of staff disclosed that he would bring to bear his loyalty, competence and support to serve the President to the best of his ability.
