COVID-19 LOCKDOWN: ABEOKUTA SOUTH LG TO FUMIGATE MARKETS AND ENVIRONS
All hands must be on deck in the stride to fumigate nooks and crannies of Abeokuta South Local Area as a pertinent effort to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
This call was made by the Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Olanrewaju Samod while receiving tools and other items for the fumigation exercise.
The gadgets for the fumigation include: Manual Knapsack Sprayers, Motorised Sprayer, Protective Gadgets(wears), Safety Cap, Nose Cover and Plastic Nose Cover.
Hon. Samod declared that the exercise will commence on Monday, April 7, in the popular Kuto Market, beginning from exactly 2pm and urged health personnel to brace up for the task ahead of them which will last for next five days.
Speaking earlier, Dr. Odedina Adeola, Ogun State commissioner for Ministry of Agricultural Resources said that the distribution of the fumigation gadgets were made available to the grassroots because it is the third tier of government that is closest to the people and there on advised the traders and people within the vicinities to obey the time frame order of the State that the exercise will be conducted in markets situated within Abeokuta South Area.
While reacting to the charge, Sanitarian Emmanuel Ademola Sodeke, Director Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation, pledged that his personnel will exert their professional expertise during the exercise.
