Yuletide: Trace Boss Cautious Motorists Not to Take Alcohol While Driving


The Commander/CEO of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) Seni Ogunyemi, has warned motorists in Ogun State to avoid taking alcohol while driving this festive season.

He gave the warning in a telephone interview on Saturday while reacting to killing of a toddler in front of his father's compound on Boxing Day when a lone vehicle veered off the road and rammed into the building.

According to an eyewitness account, at about 12.35 p.m. a Toyota Previa with Reg. No:MUS 585 DR suddenly veered off the road and rammed into a shop where some children were playing at Sagamu Township Maro, Akarigbo Road outbound Sagamu.

Seni advised that drivers are expected to drive with minimum speed to avoid accident as the rate of road mishaps during any festive period is so alarming.

He established that the agency has recorded quite number of road mishaps along Sagamu express way, which has claimed so many lives of young, adults and infants.

Commander Seni posited that his men will be on standby to ensure that road mishap is reduced to a bearest minimum, with the instruction that any driver caught breaking traffic laws will be prosecuted without delay.

In Conclusion, he enjoined motorists to cooperate with the men of the agency as they are partners in ensuring maximum safety.
