Community Social Work is About the People ....... ABS

Former Hon. commissioner for Community Development and cooperatives during the tenure of Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Apostle Biodun Sanyaolu has said that the community social work is about the people, just like democracy and therefore there must be a synergy between the community social workers and the political class if the duo are to serve the interest of the people.

Apostle Biodun Sanyaolu said this on Thursday 19th of December 2019 at the first Local Government Social Workers Association of Nigeria (LOGSWAN) Maiden Day Celebration, Ogun State Branch, where he was asked to give the account of  creation of the community development departments in all the twenty local government of Ogun State.

Sanyaolu said after the creation of Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives and his appointment as the pioneer Commissioner in charge of that ministry, he called a delegation of Nine community social workers and challenged them to go back and meet with their people, let us work on how to create department of Community in various local government.

The Community was placed under the department of information in each Local government but during the tenure of Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Apostle Biodun Sanyaolu as the Hon. Commissioner for community development and Co-operatives, he single handedly fought for the creation of the community development departments in all twenty (20) local government of Ogun State in order to bring governance to the grassroots. This was one of the legacies of Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD) and Apostle Biodun Sanyaolu (ABS)

He urged them to readjust themselves to be able to meet up with the challenge of these administration and work a plan with them. He is saying this because he want them to be serious to achieve what they suppose to achieve since thirteen (13th) years of creation of Community Department in the twenty local government of Ogun State.
