UNTOLD AND UNKNOWN FACT ABOUT EXPELLED FUNAAB STUDENT (IFEMOSU ADEWALE MICHAEL-DACOMPLEX).
FROM THE OFFICE OF THE VICE-CHAIRMAN NANS/JCC OGUN.
My attention has been drawn to some malicious and untrue media reports as regards the circumstances surrounding the expulsion of Ifemosu Adewale Michael, A 200level student of the prestigious Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
Late sage Chief Obafemi Jeremiah Awolowo famously said and I quote "it isn't life that matters but the courage we put into it, because after darkness there comes a victorious dawn" over the years FUNAAB has set a pedigree of moral and academic excellence which must be continuously sustained and by all funnabites as an affirmation of our fabulous Nature in all positive ramifications.
Haven gone through the purported open letter written to the preforming, students friendly and very progressive inclined Vice Chancellor of FUNAAB Prof. Felix Kolawole Salako by a 200level student of the said institution (FUNAAB), I can confidently say that the letter lacks the Moral Value of the *"OMOLUABI"* Nature considering the highly disrespectful and harsh words used in the letter.
The said letter is full of unconfirmed and unsubstantiated rumors aimed at tarnishing the positive image of the fabulous University of Agriculture in Nigeria and Africa which no reasonable management will allow.
Furthermore, the purported letter was signed in a very confusing and politically motivated manner. I. E " Convener Youths in Good Governance Initiative( YIGGI), Secretary AAC Party Ogun State, Student of FUNAAB "
(1) YIGGI is not a registered forum on campus(FUNAAB).
(2) AAC is a political party which contested the last general election with the embattled Omoyele Sowore as its presidential candidate, hence the reason behind the massive media support given to the expelled student via misleading reports through its biased and political SAHARA reporters, a media platform that has over the years lost its values with dissemination of False news. This is a clear indication that the said Ifemosu Micheal is politically sponsored.
Ordinarily as an intellectual, I strongly believe that there are established protocols in every formal organizations, such as Schools. It's an established fact that the expelled student did not in any way follow due process before coming up with the said open letter, he boycotted the Student Union, and NANS despite the fact that the institution has the Executive Vice Chairman of NANS Ogun Axis.
Its on record that the said Adewale was given fair hearing and was never placed under duress as he clearly stated that "he owes nobody apology"
It should be noted that the Students Union held a meeting on Sunday and agreed to meet Ifemosu Micheal On Monday by 10am to hear his side of the story and possible way forward, Ifemosu was duly invited, On Monday while the three arms of government of the student union waited for him from 9:45am to 11:00am only for him to boycott the meeting which shows he has other inferior motives.
On the issue of the open letter written to the IGP On October 3rd 2019 TO persecute The Ogun State commissioner Of police, OC SARS Ogun State among others over the robbery incidents within the institution, to set the records straight Nigerian Students In Ogun State are proud of the ever performing, listening, understanding and proactive Commissioner of Police Ogun State Command AIG. B. Makama.
Past union presidents of Funaab, and NANS Ogun JCC and other concerned students leaders from both within and Outside Funaab met with the Police boss in the state and other security agents in the state over the said robbery cases, which gave birth to the Harmony Police Station, Opposite Funaab gate. Frankly speaking after the formation of the Harmony Police Station crime rate and robbery have been drastically eradicated. As a matter of fact there had been no record of Robbery within the axis for some time not until Ifemosu wrote the letter to the IGP accusing police personnel of burgling in to students apartments in the middle of the night claims that he can not substantiate. We must salute the Commissioner of Police Ogun command and equally Pass a vote of confidence on him as a father of Nigerian Students, significantly for personally visiting the students union executives and students representatives from each hostels around the campus at the Students Union Building of FUNAAB to interact and hear directly from the students and also to fashion ways of tackling insecurity both within Funaab and across the state.
My attention has also been drawn to a statement issued by *the factional president of NYCN Bala Shagari,* I want to implore him to face the four factions rocking the national leadership of NYCN, no doubt Bala Shagari is a coward and hypocrite who kept mute during very critical moments in the Youths and Student constituency. Where was NYCN during the NANS Xenophobic struggle, where was NYCN during the FUOYE crisis, What has NYCN done over the rising cases of Sucide among youths? Let it be known that Funaabites will vehemently resist any group or person trying to make a mockery of our great Institution FUNAAB.
Its on record that Prof Felix Salako, Vice Chancellor of FUNAAB met just four (4) functional mancot buses on ground but at this moment FUNAAB has 19 functional Mancot Buses and still counting. This was made available through the increment of the mancot bus fee from #10 - #20 an arrangement which was unanimously agreed on by the student union, proceeds from which Buses where maintained and repaired.
Another fact remains that Tertiary Single Account *(TSA)* is also applicable to FUNAAB so any reasonable person must ask questions from Ifemosu Adewale Michael where fund embezzlement is taking place as accused in the misleading open letter, to set the record straight a University Professor or lecturer is most capable of buying a luxurious car from his or her salary and raising accusing fingers at that is absolutely unreasonable.
Its also a fact that prior to the appointment of Prof Felix Kolawole Salako as Funnab VC, the road leading from camp junction - Alabata road, was nothing to write home about. But with the help of the federal Government Through the Vice-Chancellor, the road is now absolutely motorable, even when Ogun Oshun River basin among several other government agencies in the axis have refused to give the rod any attention or perlative measures in place, Even the immediate past state Governor didn't give any attention to the road basically because it is a federal road. In lieu of this, Funnabites and residents of this axis are extremely grateful and forever appreciative to Prof Felix Salako our beloved, performing and students friendly Vice-Chancellor for this progressive move.
However in the spirit of solidarity, _an injury to one, is an injury to all,_ am appealing to FUNAAB management to review his punishment and reduce his penalty, even as ignorance is not an excuse before the law.
Finally I want to implore all Funaabites and Nigerian Students in the gateway state, to desist from spreading fake, unconfirmed and unrealistic informations that are capable of misleading the public thereby causing public disorder.
Signed:
COMR. EKUNDINA SEGUN ELVIS
VICE CHAIRMAN NANS OGUN JCC.
A PROUD AND FABULOUS FUNAABITE.
