Adekoya Endorsed for Deputy Minority Leader

As minority parties in the House of Representatives are getting set to unveil principal officers, Hon. Segun Abdel-Majid Adekoya, representing Ijebu-North/Ijebu-East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, Ogun State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is being touted for Deputy Minority Whip position.

Findings revealed that over 80 members belonging to PDP, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Action Democratic Party (ADP), Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) have endorsed him.

It was learnt that a third-term member from the South-south was endorsed the Minority Leader, a fourth-term member from Kaduna State, was endorsed Deputy Minority Leader, and another fourth-term member from the Southeast is being tipped for the position of Minority Whip.

The Guardian learnt that since the two slots to the South have been occupied by Christians, Adekoya, a Muslim, from Southwest, was endorsed for Deputy Minority Whip for balancing.

In a related development, it was gathered that a member of House of Representatives, who openly endorsed Hon Umar Bago, is currently lobbying leadership of his party to endorse him as the Deputy Minority Whip of the House of Representatives.
