Ogun 2019: Engr. John Tosin Takes Football Competition To The Grassroots

House of Assembly hopeful for Obafemi Owode State constituency under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. John Tosin has taken sports development to the grassroots with the sponsorship of Football competition for artisans in the Local Government Area tagged: “John Tosin Grassroot Football Competition.”

The young politician stated in an interview that the football competition was quite interesting and a kind of competition that people like him should be promoting.

“Moreso, most of the youths have said that someone like us should support them for things like this, which was I sponsored the competition,” he said.

The final match of the competition was between Barbers FC and Carpenters FC.

The players from the two sides defied the scorching sun and gave the game their best, but the two teams failed to score any goal at the end of the 90 minutes and extra time allotted for the match.

Carpenters FC eventually carried the day during penalty kicks.

Speaking further, Engr. Tosin said the competition will encourage the youth to participate in sports, promising he would continue to sponsor the competition on an annual basis.

Cash reward and gifts were given to participating teams at the end of the tourney.

The businessesman cum politician recently organised a skills acquisition programme for over 1000 youths in the Local Government Area.
