Stop Buying Prepaid Meters from IBEDC.......Group Advice Abeokuta Residence.

A Group of Human Right Activist known as Balance Measure Impact Initiative (BMII) in Conjunction with the Aggrieved People of Abeokuta and Egba Zone of Ogun State located at imala Elega, Abeokuta has advised the People of Abeokuta and Egba Zone to ignore any IBEDC Official who ask them to Pay for the Prepaid Meters before it can be given to their Customers.


The Chairman of the Group, Comrade Kunle Famuiwa Gave the Advised today at the Stakeholders Meeting between the Group and the Community Development Associations Under Abeokuta & Egba Zone that each Houses Should Stop Paying for their right.

Comrade Famuiwa Said with the Agreement between IBEDC and the Federal Government is that the Prepaid Meters will be Distributed free to all Customers of IBEDC but know they have turn it to business as Usual.

The Chairman Said People Should be Aware that IBEDC is Planning to increase tariffs and People Should try and ask them Simple Questions that in what way they want to increase tariffs or is the Electricity improved?.

Earlier, the PRO of the Group, Comrade Aregbesola said the Purpose of the Meeting is to Rearrange the Planning of Protest that the Protest is to enlighten our People how to get Prepaid Meters and Estimated billing, and Radio Programs which the Group is been on it before but because of insufficient of Money the group can not Continue the Radio Program that the group is Ready to back on Air for the Program but they Need Sponsorship.

The Communities however Declared their total Support to the Group in View of the identical Principles of Transparency and Social Justice as a bedrock of the Group BMII.

Other Stakeholders in the Meeting who also Spoke include Rev. Adeoye from Oke Lantoro Community, Baale of Tobolase Abule Oloni, Pastor Sola Adeyinka from Okejigbo Community, Mrs Agboola Oladoyin, a Woman Activist.

At the end of the Meeting, the BMII and the whole Communities Unanimously Agree that IBEDC Should Stop Harassing them, that IBEDC and the Communities have Rejected and will Continue to Reject the Harassment from the hands of IBEDC Officials.


IBEDC Should Officials Should Stay Off their Communities Until the Following Issues are Resolved.

👉 NO METER, NO PAYMENT
👉 NO CARRYING AWAY OUR DISCONNECTED WIRES
👉 IBEDC OFFICIALS SHOULD STOP HARASSING US.
👉 WE CAN'T BE PAYING FOR DARKNESS.
👉 WE SAY NO TO ESTIMATED BILLING
👉 GIVE US PRE-PAID METERS.
👉 WE SHALL ONLY PAY FOR WHAT WE CONSUME.
👉 IBEDC SHOULD STOP ASKING US TO PAY OR REPAIR ANY OF THEIR BELONGING SUCH AS: TRANSFORMERS, POLES, CABLES, ETC.

IBEDC Should Stop Treating us like Criminals.
