Reject Any Political Parties or Aspirants Who Purchase Forms With Millions........... Group Advised Nigerians
Action Support Democracy Group Of Nigeria has rejected the high cost of nomination forms by political parties for prospective political office holders in the country, calling on Nigerians to vote against any candidates who purchased the form with such an exorbitant amount.
Addressing journalists on Monday in Abuja, the National Coordinator of the group, Mr. Johnson Olakunle who spoke said, there is need to reject the recently announced cost of buying expression of interest and nomination forms by political parties in Nigeria, describing it as an “improved Corruption”.
Abamiedaa blogspot Recalled that, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP sells its presidential nomination forms for N12million naira, while All Progressives Congress, APC put its price at N55million naira.
Olakunle who called on Nigerians to mobilize against the candidates who buy such forms, explained that such development would only further increase corruption in the country.
“There is need to reject the recently announced cost of buying expression of interest and nomination forms by political parties in Nigeria.
“If we cannot stop the parties, we should mobilize the citizens against the candidates who buy such forms. Anyone buying the forms now with millions will surely buy votes and must be corrupt when elected to serve the people “.
“The fight against corruption should begin by creating environment for aspirants not to be corrupt by political parties and during campaigns. If parties collect millions for forms, how much will voters gets during primaries and general elections? Our future has been placed on sale now and we should say no to buyers now.
“There is an urgent need for Nigerians to reject all political parties and candidates who purchase forms with such an amount. If we are going like this, it means our future is not guaranteed and our unborn generation will curse us”, Olakunle noted.
He therefore advised Nigerians to fight against menace in order to promote the anti-corruption campaign of the federal government.
