Oba Undergoes PDP Screening for House of Representative

The founder of the Olanrewaju Oba Youth Forum (TOOYF), Comrade Abdulmajeed Olanrewaju Oba has reaffirmed his confidence to be victorous at the primaries of People Democratic Party (PDP) to represent Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency.

Oba made the disclosure after being screened by a seven-man committee at the Kwara Hotel in Ilorin, Kwara State.

He declared that his level of experience as a seasoned businessman, networks and qualifications placed him far above other persons in the race for the party’s ticket in the race.

“I believe that I am the most qualified of the candidates to represent my constituency at the legislative chamber.  The legislature is about making laws that will affect the lives of the people positively and ensure the development of the society,” Mr Olanrewaju Oba said.

A youth advocate and active in Not-too-young-to-run movement said that there were three areas he would concentrate on when elected into the lower chamber of Nigeria’s bicameral National Assembly.

He said: "There is the need to put in place laws to improve the lives of the people of the North Central, guarantee more youth participation in governance as well as making laws to manage incessant flood in the country.

“There is the need to improve on the existing legal framework for youths in the country to participate in governance. Nigeria has a lot of active and vibrant youth which the country needs to be involved in the decision making processes of the country."

Olanrewaju Oba who was the organiser of the Mass March for Saraki for President Campaign held recently in Ilorin, further noted that it will be a tremendous shift to the era of youth if Senate President, Bukola Saraki emerges President of Nigeria.

He said: “If the President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki emerges the flag bearer of the PDP and is elected President of Nigeria, the country will witness a great development and a major shift of to era of Youths as Nigeria currently needs fresh blood the in the system."
