Bisola Sodipo-Clark Join ADC Pick Senatorial Form

Wife of elder statesman Edwin Clark, Abisola Shodipo-Clark, on Tuesday, declared her intention to run for the Ogun Central Senatorial seat.

She made the disclosure when she submitted her letter of intent to the state chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC) Gbolade Osinowo at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta.

The senatorial aspirant advocated for more representation of the women in the National Assembly for optimal development.

“You remember that recent United Nations resolution is that for us to achieve optimal development, especially in developing countries, we all need to have at least 60 per cent representation of women in our National Assembly and I believe that if this can be achieved,” Abisola Shodipo-Clark said.

“We will be able to get it better by creating health, wealth, development, progress and taking our country out of the recession it is currently.”

She promised quality representation for the people of her constituency if given the opportunity to serve them at the upper legislative chamber.

The former commissioner for Health in the state, assured the leadership of the party of her resolve to ensure its victory in the elections.

Responding, Osinowo, said the ADC remained the only party in the country that placed a premium on youths and women participation in politics.

He said further that the party provided the opportunity for people below the age of 40 and 50 years to pay 50 per cent as a fee for nomination forms.
