Shock as Serving PDP Member Emerges Kwara APC factional chair

It was all shock and disbelief on Saturday in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital as member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Bashir Bolarinwa emerged as the Chairman of a faction of the APC in Kwara State.

BOB, a former member of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria defected to the PDP in 2011 and contested election under the platform of the PDP as a gubernatorial candidate.

There is no evidence that he defected back to the ACN or its emergent amalgamated party, the APC.

Several sources in the PDP said as earlier as March, 2017, Hon. Bolarinwa contributed a large sum of money for the PDP chapter in Kwara State towards its weekly radio programme.

A senior member of the PDP, Alhaji Yunus Alajagusi expressed surprise that the APC would settle for an active member of the PDP to lead them in Kwara state.

"I received the news with mixed feelings. First, I am shocked like everybody else, and second, I am vindicated. Vindicated because I have always believed that there is nothing special about the Kwara APC. They can't govern the state properly and now it's become difficult even to govern the party."

"Making a known PDP member their chairman is a confirmation that they don't have quality people within their midst. They've to pouch from the PDP before they could put their house in order. It's a real shame."

Our correspondent reports that Hon. BOB was elected at a parallel congress which held at the Arca Canta Event Centre along Offa Garage Road in Ilorin.
