Ogun NUJ Vow To Give NANB Chapel
Bloggers under the
abutment of National Association Of Nigerian Bloggers NANB were hosted in the
Nigeria Union of Journalists secretariat by Comrade Wole Sokunbi, NUJ chairman
Ogun State and Comrade Wale Adewunmi, Chairman Correspondents Chapel NUJ.
In attendance was
scores of blogger who travel far an wide to witness the great lecture from
Barrister Habeeb Whyte on Do and Don’t in blogging and how to be free from
cyber crimes which was handled professionally by the invited legal
practitioner. Also in attendance was Comrade Olasunkanmi Adetoye Ijaduoye the
National Public Relations Officer of National Association Of Polytechnic
Students NAPS and Comrade Bestman Okereafor the National Association of
Nigerian Students NANS among others personalities.
The chairman of
Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, made Bloggers to realize their usefulness to
the society and tutor them on the reason why balancing of story is very
important to the nation building as he cite examples of situation where media
has caused chaos through new Media headlines and laxity in balancing of stories
to the best interest of the nation. He later re-state the plan to give new
media a Chapel and become the 12th Chapel through National Association Of
Nigerian Bloggers NANB and provide 4months training for bloggers on journalism
with certificate to be more educated on ethics of journalism.
The President of
the Association, Comrade Solanke Ayomideji Taiwo applaud the decision of the
Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ in this great move, while he urged the
chairman to fast track the process as it will not only give the blogger more
recognition but gives them more presentation in the face of the politicians and
public who have nurse hatred for bloggers.
