2027: My Ambition is Rooted in a Desire to Strengthen The Local Economy, Says Rep Aspirant, Adeola Olabode
An aspirant for the House of Representatives under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Alhaji Sheriff Adeola Olabode, has said his decision to contest in 2027 is driven by the urgent need to deliver practical, people-focused representation to Abeokuta South Federal Constituency.
The aspirant, popularly known as Omo'oba, disclosed this on Sunday in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Olabode stressed that the constituency needs a lawmaker who understands local challenges and is prepared to translate them into meaningful policies and projects at the National Assembly.
According to him, his ambition is rooted in a desire to strengthen the local economy, expand opportunities for young people, and attract sustainable investments that will improve livelihoods across the constituency.
“Abeokuta South is blessed with hardworking people and huge potential, but we need stronger legislative backing to unlock real development,” he said.
Olabode explained that if emerged party candidate in the coming election, he would prioritise policies that promote economic diversification, small business growth, skills development, and youth empowerment, noting that job creation must move from political talk to measurable action.
He added that quality representation goes beyond occupying a seat in Abuja, saying it requires constant engagement with constituents and deliberate efforts to address their everyday concerns.
“This is not about personal ambition; it is about collective progress. Our people deserve a representative who listens, who is accessible, and who will push for projects and policies that directly impact their lives"
The APC aspirant assured residents that their basic needs from infrastructure and education to empowerment programmes would receive stronger attention through effective lawmaking, oversight, and constituency-driven initiatives.
He therefore called on the people of Abeokuta South to support his vision of inclusive and responsive representation.
