Sawonjo Aradokun Day 16th Anniversary Grand Finale: A Celebration of Culture And Glamour Display..
On Saturday, April 19th 2025, the historical town of Sawonjo witness the grand finale of it 16th anniversary celebration, marking the culmination of a week-long extravaganza. The Olu of Sawonjo, HRM Oba Micheal Ayinde Oderinde provide a majestic backdrop for the celebration.
This year celebration brought together thousands of great son's and daughter's from Sawonjo as well as Cultural around the town, to commemorate Aradokun s remarkable legacy.
The Chairman of the occasion and other invited dignitaries made a remarkable contributions to the development of Sawonjo, donating a staggering sum of money to support community project and promote the town's growth.
In his key note address, The Olu of Sawonjo and the Chief Host, HRM Oba Micheal Ayinde Oderinde delivered by the Adele Oba of Sawonjo Land, Chief Mueeb-deen Mulero firstly profound his gratitude to God Almighty for his mercy and the successful of the celebration, he Express his heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished political leader and Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the distinguished Senator Olamilekan Solomon Adeola (YAYI), Member House of Representatives, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, Honourable Minister of state for Health and Social Welfare, Hon. Dr. Isiaq Adekunle Salako, Hon. Goke Awoso, and the Chairman Yewa North local government, Hon. Dr. Olusola Akinbode for their support, contributions and commitment to the advancement of our community, kabiyesi said he deeply appreciate their efforts and look forward to continue collaboration.
As a city that hosted one of the biggest farm settlements in Ogun State with almost 10000hectares of land as at today, we inability of the investors to access the land because of the bad road that made grossly underutilized if not abandoned. And to all our community members, let's remain steadfast in our unity and commitment to progress, let's work together, support one another and continue to build a community that reflects our shared aspirations by ensuring the future our youths and women are giving the required attention, Said Oba Oderinde.
Earlier, in his Welcome Address, the Chairman Planning Committee and the Agba-Akin of Sawonjo Land, Chief Obayomi Dauda firstly thank God for everyone to witness the celebration in good health. He Express his gratitude and appreciation to Ogun State government by supplying a 300KVA transformer some years back where he also appeal to the three tiers of government to please come help them with the roads leading to Sawonjo which is dangerous to life.
A dazzling cultural display stole the show, such as GELEGE, EGUNGUN AND IGUNNUAKO. Vibrant associations and groups, resplendent in stunning. Market women association also same out with new dimensions by showing the Seal Gaari Sawonjo named, AJOSEWAKONIBAJE SAWONJO CASSAVA PROCESSING COLLECTIVE.
The leader of team said this gaari is different from the old ones that they made it with good hygiene, new technology with special equipment.
The event concluded with musical entertainment whose soulful melodies filled the air, leading the audience enthralled and serenaded.
