IF YOU WANT TO LEAD, YOU MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO SCOLD YOUR PEOPLE, Segun Showunmi
A chieftain of the People's Democratic Party PDP in Ogun State and the convener of the national opposition movement coalition (NOMC), Otunba Dr. Segun Showunmi has called on the leaders of political parties to criticizes their weight that it brings us to the other way to grumble, grouch, or generally express one's crankiness.
Otunba Showunmi gave the advice while rounding up his media exchange of ideas with a cross-section of senior Journalist in Abeokuta the Ogun State Capital on sensitisation of the "THE ALTERNATIVE' national opposition movement coalition (NOMC).
He highlighted that the slogan of Awalokan should go to Ogun West because we own the state together and we should elevate the conversation of the governance beyond these. If Senator Yayi or anybody from Yewa called Ogun West want to be governor, let them come out and tell us what they even understand governance to be that this is not the time to exchange votes foodstuffs for electorates. Subject them to interrogation of the debate of the vision they want to run here and subject them to the conversation of how did they plan to fund it, subject them of how did they want to do it in a sustainable manner that this is the conversation.
Ogun West must rise above such politics and advocate for good leadership that prioritizes the people's welfare. Political awareness must grow in our dear State, Ogun, and we must all join our thoughts and efforts to build state. We must voice our concerns about challenges facing Ogun West senatorial district, especially leadership.
He also cautions those saying negative about the governor of Ogun State, Price Dapo Abiodun to allow him to do his his job and stop blaming the governor for no reason.
"If we continue giving excuse, the government in power and under the excused of political consideration that the governor will not perform and all the budget and the expenses will be waisted because we did not allow him to concentrate on his job".
