Ogun State Youth Concern Movement:Condemns The Arrest Of Mr. Asaolu Gafar By Police

As a true patriotic we strongly condemns the recent arrest of Mr. Asaolu Gafar, a dedicated member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and staunch supporter of Hon. Ladi Adebutu. Gafar was detained by the Ogun State Police Command on allegations of involvement in violence during the local government elections in Ogun State. These accusations, which claim Gafar led an attack on an APC candidate, Hon. Muhammed Olaitan Efuwape, are baseless and politically motivated.

Mr. Asaolu Gafar, known for his peaceful and vibrant political engagement, has always championed the development of Ogun State. The allegations leveled against him are part of a broader smear campaign orchestrated by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to suppress opposition voices and tarnish the reputation of the PDP.

The arrest of Mr. Gafar reflects the increasing use of state machinery to intimidate PDP members and distract from their quaking governance..

Let’s stop illegal arrest to let the masses breathe, you can't be intimidating with your un working system of governance and expect the masses not to express their feelings.

Our demands:

1. The immediate release of Mr. Asaolu Gafar.

2. An end to the unwarranted persecution and media trial of PDP members.

3. A genuine focus by the government on securing lives and property in the state rather than orchestrating witch hunts against opposition voices.

We sympathize with all victims of electoral violence and reiterate our belief in the vision of a better Ogun State under PDP leadership. We remain confident that Hon. Ladi Adebutu, our principal, will prioritize security, justice and equity for all citizens.

We'll implore all our Party members ó unto their steadfastness and be stronger the more in heart for this is a storm that won't last for long and it's very confident that we'll prevail..
