KANO EMIRATE TUSSLE - NNPP Writes National Assembly Denies Letter Alleging Siege by FG on Kano.

The New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) says the letter to the  Senate and House of Representatives accusing the Federal Government of laying siege on Kano State did not emanate from the party.

This is contained in a statement by the NNPP

National Chairman, Dr Agbo Major and The National Secretary Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday on thursday in Abuja.

The party was reacting to a letter written to the National Assembly by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso through Dr Ajuji Ahmed on June 24.

The letter was titled: Need for NNPP Federal Lawmakers to Make Urgent and Concerted Efforts to End Immediately the Siege on Kano state by Agents of the Federal Government."

According to the letter written by The Leadership of New Nigeria People's Party NNPP and jointly signed by Major Agbo Gilbert Major The National Chairman and Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday The National Secretary, the earlier letter written by the said Dr Ajuji Ahmed was without the mandate and authorization of the leadership of  NNPP.

" Dr Boniface Aniebonam is the founder of  NNPP and custodian  of the  Certificate of Registration of the party, the  Chairman Board of Trustees and a life member of the Board while  Dr Agbo Major  is the National Chairman  and Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday is the national secretary.

NNPP described Ahmed as an impersonator and interloper that is doing a hatchet job for Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his kwanKwasia group.

The principle of NEW NIGERIA PEOPLE'S PARTY remains focused on peace of the society, development and wellbeing of the greater numbers of Nigerians.

"The fact that the matter is currently before competent courts of law and jurisdiction,  any interference by the National Assembly shall further complicate the situation" NNPP stated.

"The avoidable tension generated as a result of the actions of the State Government in Kano necessitates the need for vigilance and enhanced security in the state to avoid breakdown of law and order.

"It is a trite for Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf, Sen  Rabiu Kwankwaso and Elder Buba Galadima to understand that every court order must be obeyed first before a complaint.

Recognizing the fact that the  rules of engagement to vacate orders of the court are very clear and unambiguous"

NNPP therefore maintain that it is necessary for the National Assembly to align with the position that would guarantee  protection of lives and property of  citizens in  Kano state.

The NNPP as a registered political party in Nigeria is not interested in engaging in any controversy with the Federal Government and its agencies,  particularly security institutions.

"We should all be responsible partners and law abiding citizens for the peace and development of Nigeria.

"The letter and any form of representation by the said Ahmed Ajuji should be disregarded forthwith".

In a letter dated 2nd of July, 2024 jointly signed by The National Chairman of NEW NIGERIA PEOPLE'S PARTY (NNPP) Agbo Gilbert Major and The National Secretary, Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday, the earlier letter sent on behalf of Kwankwaso and signed by one Dr. Ajuji to indict the President and Federal Security Agencies on Kano Emirate Tussle was asked to be disregarded as a worthless tissue paper.

"NNPP reiterate that the Kano Emirate matter is in court and Kwankwaso and Kano State Governor should learn to respect court orders, after all, the Kano state Governor  is in power today via  the court.

Therefore, The role of NNPP in Kano Emirate Tussle is to advise  Gov ABBA Yusuf to respect Court orders and to make sure that the peaceful coexistence of the people of Kano State is greater than anybody's selfish interest.

The  Leadership of NNPP noted that Elders of Kano State and elites can come together and resolve the internal Chieftaincy crises,  then  approach the court for consent judgment or be patient with the court for  final judgment.

"Waiting  patiently for the court is better  and more civil than the unnecessary propaganda and blackmail of the Federal Government and its security institutions who are carrying on with their statutory duties to maintain peace and order of the society.

"We, therefore,  wish to once again advise Gov ABBA Yusuf to concentrate on provisions of quality leadership in kano State and distance himself from all the avoidable and self-inflicted tensions in the  state.

"We hereby appeal to the Senate and House of Representatives to  disregard the unauthorized ,illegal and inappropriate letter of the expelled members of the NNPP led by Ajuji.
