International Day Of Peace: Group Blames Sagamu Breach of Peace On Government Negligence.

A group, Aviary Association Worldwide has blamed the breach of peace in Sagamu by suspected cultists on government negligence and lack of job opportunities.

To this end, the group charged the Ogun state government to create job opportunities for youths in the state in order to end such a narrative.

The group National Vice Chairman, Asiwaju Adebayo Oniyide argued that poverty in the country is on the increase, hence, the possibilities for crime and criminality among youths for survival.

He spoke in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital on Thursday, while addressing pressmen on this years’ International Day Of Peace.

Oniyide noted that the quick way to end the crimes in the state is for the government to create more jobs and get the youths engaged as well as discourage them from being idle.

He said “The problem is on the government side and poverty. The poverty in the land is too much.  Those committing the crime are not really cultists, they are hoodlums.

“They don’t have a base and what is leading to this is poverty.  I will advise the youth to maintain peace amongst themselves. They need a means of livelihood. Once they create employment opportunities for the youths, all the crises will no longer be mentioned.”

“Peace also involves understanding each other and working together to find solutions to problems. Peace is societal friendship and harmony in the absence of hostilities and violence. Any other approach other than peace in dealing with difficult issues causes pain and suffering, so the UN International Day of Peace was created to facilitate the conditions where peaceful solutions come about.

He added “Peace strives in a society where the Government functions well, where there is sound business environment, where there is equitable distribution resources, where there is acceptance of right to others, where there exists a good relationship with others, where there is free flow of information, high level of human capital and low level of corruption.”
