DEPUTY MINORITY WHIP, RT. HON. ADESEGUN ADEKOYA ATTRACTS DIGITAL ECONOMY CENTRE TO HIS FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY.



Rt. Hon. Adekoya Adesegun Abdel-Majid, Deputy Minority Whip, Federal House of Representatives, being a responsive legislator that is aimed at raising the economic status of Nigerian youths, most especially his federal constituency has nominated Muslim High School, Ago-Iwoye as beneficiary of DEC (Digital Economy Centre) through National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) under the supervision of Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy.


Muslim High School (MHS), Ago-Iwoye, is the former Moslem Modern Secondary Commercial School that vacated her structures (now OOU mini campus) to pave way for the takeoff of Ogun State University now Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye.


DEC focuses on digital technologies that is based on digital and computing technologies. It essentially covers all business, economic, social, cultural activities that are supported by the web and other digital communication technologies.


MHS being in a University Community that is largely populated with youth will no doubt serve it purposes among which is the digital economy intervention for Nigerians aimed at facilitating access to digital services such as e-learning where youths will be adequately trained; DEC has the potential to enhance productivity, income and social well-being. It is creating job opportunities in new markets and increasing employment in some existing occupations.


The Digital Economy Centre comprises of computers, Internet connectivity, Local Area Network (LAN), E-learning solutions, Solar power inverter, generator etc.


Management of the benefiting school (Muslim High School, Ago-Iwoye) have been duly informed and efforts are in top gear for commencement of the project.
