Ink On Paper 3: The Missing Link In Christendom.

By Worldfamous Ajibola Oluwafidipo

Today, my concentration is on the body of Christ (The Church). The way so-called ministers of God are administering their flocks have become an irritated affair, just a few months ago, a particular video of a Pastor surfaced on social media whereby he directed his church members to drink his bath water, not that alone, another one surfaced two days ago, which showed a young pastor sitting on his church member's head releasing fart on him as a sign of total deliverance.

In all of these, we have maintained a quiet posture for so long, we have allowed university drop-outs and aimless individuals under the guise of being called to bastardize Christian faith, the Church has become a common ground for businessmen and women who will go as far as getting power from the marine kingdom and still have the effrontery to attribute their demonic works to God.

I am certain that there will be great opportunity to discuss fake Pastors, fake Prophets and prophetesses in this column.

Let me state for the record that on my weekly online programme titled Ayidayida, God gave me inspiration to discuss extensively about the acts of fake Prophets, I vividly remember that I cited an example of a Prophet (identity withheld) who told me to come for rituals and sacrifice, it is recently I saw his posters announcing that he wants to stage a crusade in one of the white garment churches here in Abeokuta.

In order not to digress from the main focus, the body of Christ has been brought low by these men of greed composition, little wonder, a prophetess told me she went to learn about prophet work, the work of God has been reduced to what we learn as an apprentice, it is no longer bothers on divine call, many have desecrated the altars of the Most High God.

Most of the uncontrolled attitude of these so-called ministers of God to a large extent has brought less importance to Christianity, because they have placed every religious activities on commercial purposes,  they sell anointing, perfumes, soaps and other things, in a normal sense of handling spiritual matter, if need be, members should be allowed to buy their anointing oil from anywhere and the Pastor or Shepherd should pray into it and not prepare some specially for sale.

Now to the main gist, the number one missing link in Christendom is the proliferation of churches, even those who cannot hear human call are claiming God called them, the proliferation of churches give room to high rate of criminal involvement in the work of God. Many of these deviants are hiding under the umbrella of Christ death and resurrection, many even point to the portion of the Bible in Mark 16 verse 15 ''And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.'' On this premise many often misinterpret the passage for church establishment, they fail to understand the evangelical instruction,  which is a call to soul winning.

Another missing link in Christendom is the politicization of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), these bodies that are supposed to ensure sanity have missed their primary objectives, they run after politicians and engage in meaningless and ceaseless visitations to Aso Rock and to Government Houses at states level.

Also, another cancerous element is the endless yearnings for miracle, many church founders have entered into covenants with the kingdom of darkness, many have sold their souls to the devil, and they are sacrificing their members at the demonic altars periodically to hold on to dark powers gotten from Satan.

Many Pastors entered into blood covenant and pledge their members marriages, while some pledge human sacrifice.

The major reason for the current abnormal happenings in Christendom is the quest for power, many so-called men of God planted so many ungodly things on their altars, many go as far as burying human beings in the foundation of the church building, while some made their church pillars with human beings.

The book of Act of Apostles Chapter 1:8 told us in a clear language that power will only come when the Holy Ghost has come upon us, these men of God have left the needful undone, rather, they are seeking power from rulers of darkness with heavy human blood as ransom.

The next point is love of money, 1 Timothy chapter 6 verses 9-10 ''People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction''. ''For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs''.

This is a major concern to all well-meaning lovers of the Kingdom, the rate at which people wake up and start a church is very scary, many people became the founder after they cannot find anything meaningful to do, the next pursuit is to start a church and impose heavy levy on members.

Genuine teaching is another missing link, nowadays, there are various false teachings everywhere, fulfilling what was written in the book of 1 Timothy chapter 4 verses 1-3 ''The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons''. ''Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron''. ''They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth''.

How can church be the standard of godliness, if all we get on daily basis is this Pastor impregnated his church members, that Pastor engaged in fraudulent transactions, how can we even speak to authorities from the same altar some so- called men of God had desecrated by bringing worldly musicians to it, how can we serve a Godly purpose as a church bought by the precious blood of the only son of God, if all we do is boasting of our ill-gotten wealth on pulpit and bringing comedians to crack ungodly jokes in the church, how can we be exemplary, if all we do is use the pulpit to respond to those fighting us, calling them names and saying word like ''emi naa ni were'' which means I have madness too''.

When will the church begin to serve the purpose it was meant for, chastisement, admonition, praying for peace and leaders, correcting them and showing them the perfect will of God.

As we all digest this divine piece, it is not too late to begin to do inward and outward checks, so that we put modalities that we help us build a Godly church in place, which will redeem the image of the present churches to the ones Jesus founded through His Apostles.

In Conclusion, Proverbs 28 verse 22 admonished us not to remove the ancient landmark, this is a clarion call to all members of the body of Christ to shun worldliness and uphold the standard of Christ.
