Imeko-Afon Council of Baales reiterate support for ISIAKA

More home endorsements today came the way of a two time gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, as the Imeko-Afon Council of Baales affirmed their support for his desire to govern the state. They declared that as a proud son of the soil, they are ready to go with GNI, wherever he is going; and will also defend their polling booths as the custodians of the people's culture and also as traditional leaders closest to the grassroot. Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the Chairman of the Council, who is also the Baale of Alagba, Chief Joseph Iroko, said that the current effort will not be like the past. In his word, "I appeal to our people not to look at what they will gain immediately from other politicians for now. The growth of our community should be paramount to us". In his own remark, Prince Isiaka thanked the council for their unflinching support over the years. He said, "I cannot but express my sincere appreciation for the kind words and support of our Baales. It is always an overwhelming feeling when you get the love and affection of your people ". Isiaka assured the group that he was determined to make them proud and win the forthcoming election. "The desire to address the challenges in our local community and towns are the very reasons why I am still in the race and by the will of God and the support of all of Ogun state citizens, I will make life more abundant for all as the governor of the state". The investment banker used the occasion to debunk insinuations in some quarters that he had decided to jettison his guber ambition in favour of a senatorial ticket in a certain party. "Nothing can be farther from the truth. It is laughable to think that I will abandon my people at a time when the chance of victory is brightest. Let me assure you all that I remain unwavering on this course and will pursue it till I get to office on May 29th 2019". He noted that as the season of politics begins with the release of INEC timetable, rumours and innuendos will be the order of the day. He therefore urged the people to ignore anything that is contrary to what he believes in and stands for.
