MAULUD NABBIY: Egba Chief Urges Muslims to Embrace Peace Says Nigerians Will Overcome Hardship
A renowned leader and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Chief Toyin Amuzu, TA has emphasised the need for Muslims and all Nigerians to reflect on Prophet Muhammad's (SAW) teachings and their relevance in today’s world, stressing the importance of peace, love and tolerance at all times.
The advice was contained in a press statement released in Abeokuta as Muslims across Nigeria mark Maulud Nabbiy, commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Chief Toyin Amuzu, who congratulated the Muslim community, noted that the Prophet’s life remains a timeless model for humanity, transcending religious and cultural boundaries.
He urged Muslims to recommit themselves to the ideals of justice, compassion and mutual respect.
The community leader appealed for unity among Nigerians, warning that division along religious, ethnic or political lines could hinder the nation’s progress.
Chief Amuzu, the Asiwaju-Leragun Egba, prayed for continued blessings, guidance and protection for all citizens, reiterating his commitment to the welfare of the people and the socio-economic development of Egbaland.
Speaking further, he encouraged Nigerians not to lose hope in the face of prevailing challenges.
“Despite the hardship caused by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the various difficulties confronting our people, we will overcome and be victorious against those drawing Nigeria backward and inflicting pain and hardship on the masses, just as the Prophet himself overcame trials in his lifetime,” he said.
"We only need to be ready to take our destinies in our hands and do the needful to ensure power gets to the people. As you can see, they are aligning together to be able to feast on what rightly belongs to the people".
Chief Amuzu also urged cooperation and prayers for the country’s leaders to lead with wisdom and justice, stressing that Nigeria’s future would be brighter if anchored on unity, resilience and faith.
