Ogun Youths Write Open Letter to Gov. Dapo Abiodun, Demand Urgent Appointment of Commissioner for Youth

His Excellency

Prince Dapo Abiodun

The Governor of Ogun State

Governor's Office

Abeokuta

Dear Governor Dapo Abiodun,

We, the youth of Ogun State, humbly write this open letter with deep concerns regarding the delay in appointing a Commissioner for Youth in our dear state. It has been approximately eight months since the inception of your administration, and this critical sector remains neglected, to the detriment of the young people of Ogun State.

Youth form a vital and dynamic segment of our society, representing the hope and aspirations of our future. It is disheartening that such a sensitive sector as the "youth" has been left without proper representation at the decision-making level for such an extended period of time. This delay not only undermines the progress and development of our state but also raises concerns about the commitment of the government towards addressing the challenges faced by the youth.

We believe in your vision for Ogun State and recognize the strides you have made in different sectors since assuming office. However, the non-appointment of a Commissioner for Youth not only inhibits our ability to effectively address the numerous issues affecting our young population but also impairs our ability to maximize the potential and contribution of the youth toward the development of our great state.

We, therefore, earnestly request that you prioritize the appointment of a competent and dedicated Commissioner for Youth without further delay. This step is crucial to ensure that the needs, concerns, and aspirations of our youth are heard, understood, and effectively addressed. A Commissioner for Youth will bring forth necessary initiatives, policies, and programs that will create opportunities for empowerment, skill development, job creation, and mentorship, which are fundamental pillars for the growth and success of our youth.

Your Excellency, we strongly believe that by appointing a Commissioner for Youth, you will demonstrate your commitment to the well-being and progress of the young people in Ogun State. This timely appointment will not only empower our youth but also ignite a positive momentum for the development of our state, harnessing the enormous potential that lies within our youth population.

We trust in your leadership and farsightedness, and we anticipate that you will take immediate action to rectify this situation. Please, do not hesitate to implement this crucial appointment and ensure that the youth in Ogun State (the gateway) can begin to reap the dividend of democracy that they rightly deserve.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and may you continue to lead Ogun State to greater heights.
