The Lekki Massacre: It is ironic that they Sang the National Anthem of Our Country as a Rallying Song for Courage, Yet those Who Ought to Know Better Still Kept Shooting, Segun Showunmi
There is a point of anger and annoyance that numbs you! I am in shock and utter disgust at the videos, wailings, and indiscriminate shooting of our children at the Lekki tollgate. I never thought a day would come when such will happen in Nigeria, not even under military rule did such ill-advised beastiality ever take place, street lights put off, CCTV dismantled and peaceful protesters nah children of the nation shot at, injured, maimed, and killed!
It is ironic that they sang the national anthem of our country as a rallying song for courage, yet those who ought to know better still kept shooting. No this is a lot to watch, heartbreaking and numbing.
Ever conscious Nigerian Youths, on this day, you made it clear that you love our country, so much to be willing to endure this. You showed the bravery that other nations pray for from their citizens. You are heros, and your colleagues are martyrs. Indeed the labour of our heroes past shall and must never be in vain.
God bless you all for the struggle to bring about a new nation.
The Enemies of the people, from what playbook did you get this madness from? What corrupt minds put you to this? Who gave the order? You must be ashamed of yourselves. You are irredeemable and go you must, and there will be dire consequences for this indiscretion and national embarrassment. Hide your ugly faces in shame. You have lost the right to answer your biological children when they call you Baba, Mama, Daddy, you dare not answer, for no one worthy of such title will give such an order.
20th October 2020 will go down as the day our nation died. May tomorrow come and better than now commence.
