APC has no solution to Nigeria’s problems....Gbenga Daniel
Speaking yesterday in an interview with New Telegraph, the former governor said the recent damning statement by former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the Buhari administration was the aggregate of the popular opinion on the streets.
According to him, there is urgent need for restructuring of the nation and encouragement of local content in the award and implementation of contracts for capital projects.
Daniel described as “exercise in futility and theoretical response” the defence put up by the Buhari government on its performance in office in nearly three years. He said: “What President Obasanjo said is what everybody has been saying. It is only that when he says it, it has weight.
But there is nothing that he has said, if you look at it well, that many people have not said in various ways. And I think what he did was to pull together an aggregate of the popular opinion on the streets.
“He knows that he can say it because he has status; he has network, he has connections, he is an enigma and we must accept that whether we like it or not, what he said is the true state of things.”
Daniel said he had already scored the APC ad ministration “F9,” adding that unprecedented level of job losses in the country have further revealed the glaring failures of the government.
He said:”They have been able to give some explanations to certain things, most of which are not really convincing because one thing is for you to reel out statistics, which is neither here nor there; the real issue is what is happening on the streets.
“What is happening in people’s stomachs? What is happening with inflation which we can see? What is happening with unemployment? What is happening with infrastructure? “So, whatever they talk about, if we are not able to see practically translated to positive disposition in the lives and the living of the people, it is just an exercise in futility. It’s a theoretical response
