2017 Federal Constituency Projects: Aremo Segun Adekoya, A Trailblazer, And Superlative Representative.

Another milestone was achieved by Aremo Segun Adekoya (Attacker). As part of his 2017 Federal Constituency Budget under the  Zonal Intervention Program, the Nigerian Building And Road Research Institute (NBRRI), through its Tender Board, has approved the construction of  Twin Box Culverts on Etikiriji River, Osun Ward of Ijebu Igbo, Ijebu North Local Government Area, Ogun State.

THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE OF ETIKIRIJI RIVER TO OGUN STATE.
Etikiriji river has its source from Osun state and terminate into lagoon. It runs through the south eastern part of Oke Agbo, ljebu Igbo. The river is in Osun ward (the largest ward in ljebu North). This river is the only access way for about 100 villages with thousands of people who are predominantly farmers. The width of this river is about forty metres. This river blocks the movement of human and farm produce to be transported to ljebu Igbo to boost the economic prowess of Ogun state. It is economically suicidal for Ogun state because its resources has to be taken to either Osun or Ondo state for marketing.

However, the journey of about an hour to ljebu Igbo takes more than six hours along thick forest. It is of note that this river has claimed lives and properties of many people. In other to avert loss of lives and properties people resort to diverting their farm produce to another neighboring States.

Nevertheless, at times some farm produce were wasted when means of transportation proved abortive. As a community, various communal labor were adopted such as man made plank bridge for pedestrians. With the award of this bridge for construction, farm produce, Cash and food crops would be easily transported to ljebu Igbo which would be economically beneficial to the people and Ogun state government.

During the 2015 electioneering campaign tour of Osun ward, Hon Adekoya Adesegun Abdel-Majid assured the residents that he would facilitate the construction of the bridge to improve the living standard of the people living in the area and add value to the economy of Ogun state.

Therefore, the project alone will take care of the Timber merchants , Cocoa produce farmers and buyers , other food crops traders and Apoje farm settlement. Vehicular movement would also be easier and direct. Beside the above, the people in the area would witness and enjoy this life long dividend of democracy that would open up the area in many facets.
