OBAYORI DAY 2018: Giwa call for unity, peaceful coexistence among members, --honoured members with chieftaincy.



Obayori Day is the annual festival of Egbe Obayori Akile Ijebu. It is the beginning of a new calendar year of the egbe. Egbe Obayori (Okunrin) Akile Ijebu, temporary known and  referred to as, Ijebu Regberegbe (Okunrin) Akile (1977--1979).

The 2018 edition of Obayori festival which came up on Sunday, 14th January, remained remarkable and recorded a urge success. The occasion took place at the residence of Baba Egbe (Patron), Hon. Ademorin Kuye, was well attended by friends and families of members. As part of the programs was a special prayer organized for the members. The prayer session was anchored by an Islamic and Christian clergymen.

In their respective preaching, both clergymen preaches unity, love and utmost regards to those in authority of the egbe.

However, as part of  this year Obayori Day, the Giwa Alhaji Suraju Lasisi also pronounced the approval of Giwa-In-Council, the appointment of new chiefs. The following people and their respective offices were has follows:

(1) Yusuf Oludaisi-Legacy -- Bashorun Egbe,

(2) Sesan Ogunkoya --Akinrogun Egbe,

(3) Gbenga Sowemimo --Tayese Egbe,

(4) Oba Yakubu Owoyele -- Agba'akin Egbe,

(5) Adebola Adebanjo -- Bobagunwa Egbe,

(6) Sola Kuku -- Seriki Egbe,

(7) Olabanji Oduwole -- Ogbeni-Oja Egbe,

(8) Wale Olusanya -- Akogun Egbe,

(9) Wale Odusanya -- Mayegun Egbe,

(10) Segun Ayeni -- Are Ona-Kakanfo Egbe.

Nevertheless, the Giwa in his closing remarks, appreciated members for their understanding, cooperation and unflinching supports for the progress made so far and urged all to be tolerant. He therefore canvasses for unity, peaceful coexistence among them all.

Meanwhile, the newly installed Bashorun Egbe;
Bashorun Yusuf Oludaisi-Legacy, a successful timber merchant and politician cum philanthropist, who is currently aspiring to represent the good people of Ijebu Ode in Ogun State House Of Assembly in 2019, while making the vote of thanks, he commended the Giwa and all members for the opportunity given to the new chiefs. He therefore pledged on behalf of others, to use their good offices to bring more fortunes and unite the egbe
